My Thoughts
I was attracted to this book by the cover - it looks different, it has this fairy tale look to it and as compared to the masses of covers with nekkid men this was a looker. I was also hoping for something different as well.
I got difference in the fact that the book feels like it's the entire middle section of a longer book - so there was no beginning to know why Ryan was in the situation he was in, and rather than the obvious - the reason he came back - there wasn't anything more to the book.
In spite of that or because of that I was fascinated by the characters - Ryan is frail mentally and physically and while I like my guys on the smaller side, Ryan was just so broken it was hard to like him. Daniel was the opposite, take charge optimistic and I would like to think that this was or is the perfect combination - but yet again the book closes before I got the chance to.
Ms. Yates takes the time with this book to delve into some of the heartbreak that Ryan experiences as well as how he tries to survive the time without his family or a friend- those scenes are rather touching.
But--- yes but - Ms. Yates either has a great promo plan with how these books are released because before I could think "what is this" a lengthier book is due for release - and I am intrigued. Ms Yates has left so main issues, problems and possibility in the air that leave me looking forward to the next book's release...
TO FIND AND TO KEEP is a sweet read with some rather tender smut scenes.... And a must read as I am intending to follow up Ryan's and Daniel's journey...
